Still not cooling!

The thermostats job is to restrict the flow of water or coolant until the engine reaches its optimum operating temperature then it is suposed to open and allow the coolant to flow.As the temperature decreases again while running from ambient temperature,vehicle or wind speed,less engine load etc then the thermostat should be closed up some to restrict water flow again to reach optimum temperature.The wax pellet inside the thermostat does this by increasing pressure on the spring and closing the valve.Running at the correct temperature promotes fuel economy, performance and less engine wear and emissions.

I don't know the mechanism that causes it, but have seen running without a thermostat caused overheating several times. From the '96 FSM;

HINT:
Removal of the thermostat would have an adverse effect, causing a lowering of cooling efficiency. Do not remove the thermostat, even if the engine tends to overheat

I replaced the theromstat agian with oem know im noticing the bottom of the radiator is wet. looks like right on the botom seems. Need to replace or can it be re-paired? by the way the clutch fan is brand new. what would cause the radiator to build up to much pressure? clogged maybe? both radiator hoses are extremely tight , should you be able to push them in at all?

IIRC the 1FZ-FE motor has a bypass system. When the coolant is cool it's bypassed through the engine and water pump, as the thermostat opens the disk on the back of it closes the bypass forcing the coolant through the radiator. If the thermostat were removed most of the coolant would take the path of least resistance, the bypass?

This is on a 3fe, the thermo was replaced so there is one in there. Im just going to have to see what happens after the new rad and pump, done everything else so far.

ah! now, something like that is possible and would make sense...
