Yeah!!!!!!!!! I hope so! Can't wait to see ya!

Don;t know why? I'm sure not much to look at,:eek: but the feeling is mutual. Hope to be seeing you soon. :cheers:

Alive and 200 miles on the new diffs

Legal and been driving it arround locally to break in the new diff and work out some bug's. The bug list is much longer than I expected seems electrically it went to hades not beeing used in 4 years and every circuit wants to short now, but getting there. Oh and the fuel gauge really doesn't read any where near right with that huge tank. I would think you could feel the heat from my embarsement over running out of gas near pack''s landing on one of the shakedown runs. Yes it just ran out of gas my bad. :whoops: I was sure it was another short but just turned out to be short sighed operator, they don't run well without gas even if gauge says 1/2 tank. :eek::eek::eek:

So unless the Dr puts me in the hospital I'm going to GSMTR this year~!!@:bounce:

GSMTR

Made it and it was a blast GSMTR is a do for the future. Belmont you have a awesome 40 I am soooooo envious. Managed to do some light trail work with David and others but chickened out when the rocks looked too big (sliders and skid plant not yet installed) and the rebuild worked fine untill Saturday when I was feeling bad and left early. In HotLanta she overheated and the brakes began to fade badly. :mad: So refilled with water and gently eased home hoping not to have to stop too quick. It worked I made it home and the new brake master cylinder is on the way, along with an aftermarket recovery tank for the radiatior. Hope everyone else had fun I know I sure did even if I was only there for a couple of days. Doc:D

Glad to see every thing is OK, Doc. I'll call soon to check on you.

Good to meet you Doc! Sorry to hear about your troubles on the way home, but at least you made it home in one piece. Can't wait to see how the sliders turn out on that great looking truck.

return trip

Seems I've blown out the master cylinder ( it was one of the few parts of the orginal that I did not replace with new or rebuilt:mad:) as all diagnostic testing indicates that part. Slow leakdown of pressure at the pedal, Booster seems ok the level does decrease when the brake is held and then the engine started. Got a new T-100 mc today and hope to have it installed in the next couple of days.:)

Overheating I am not so sure that BJ is actually overheating, I did not re-install the capture overflow container in the rebuild and I was low of collant when caught on I-20 in a parking lot in the Georga Sun. (Aftermarket capture tank and tubing sitting in BJ as I type) However when I refilled it it seemed ok ran at a low to 1/4 position on the road for 40 or 50 miles I thought the porblem was over and quit staring at the gauge. A few miles later I looked down and the gauge was pegged on red. I got off the interstate and pulled under an under pass and opened the hood. I know you should allow the radiatior to cool before checking fluid level but I wanted to see if it was really hot as it did not seem the truck was acting like it was overheated. Upon opening the cap nothing happened I mean nothing there was a slight woosh of maybe a 1/4 cup of hot liquid but no boiling so the temp without pressure was below boiling. Not typical with a overheating engine.

As some of you may remember a coulple of pages back I talked about running out of gas. The gas gauge has been useless sence the rebuild bouncing (slowly) up and down and even just sitting at 1/2 tank when the tank was completly dry. I thought I had messed up something in the sensor when I installed the extended range tank. However I caught a thread in the Teck 60 section where the fuel gauge lost it's ground and acted just like mine. In addition the Temperature Gauge shares a common ground. The indicator of this problem is a disfunctional fuel gauge and a temp gauge that shoots up to hot(rapidly) when the truck is not overheating. In the thread they discovered this when they replaced most of the colling system componets and installed a mechanical temperature gauge. They still had an overheating problem, till they dicided to replace their fuel gauge. Apparently re establishing the common ground and the pseudo overheating problem went away.

Don't know yet if that's BT's problem but i am sure goning to find out pulling the dash and cleaning a contanct on the gauge should do the trick. Wish me luck Who would have thought that a fuel gauge problem would make you thing the truck is running hot!!!:cheers:
