My shifter became "sticky" pretty quickly. It started by not allowing me into reverse without a couple of attempts, and now within a week my four speed gears very poorly. If I do get it into reverse it is stuck for a while between reverse and neutral. And when down shifting I often can't get into second, and first its hard to get into first as well. Overall the shifing seems very strange.

I tought it may be my clutch master since it was leaking, I replaced it (with a used one that wasn't leaking) and the problem persistes. The slave seems fine, I rebiult it about a year ago. So I think its not a hydraolic problem.

I think it may be a bearing in the clutch, any thoughts?

Thanks
Jim

Its a little of both, sloppy ( its hard to pick the gear I want to use), and firm because I need to force it into the gear I want.

get yourself a new "shifter bushing" while you're at it (the little plastic thingamy that attatches the end of the shift lever to the fork) had the very same problem, these things will fix you right up for $12.00 and about 45mins of work.
btw: where the heck is Whonnock? lived in BC for ten years, never heard of it :)

Whonnock is the little community between Maple Ridge and Mission. Technically part of Maple Ridge, but right on the border of Mission. We have our own Post office and community hall, and we just pay taxes to maple ridge for squat in return, that's why most people say Whonnock instead of maple ridge.
Cheers,
Deny
