Hi,

I run a 2005 Toyota Landcruiser Cygnus (same as LX470, Japan domestic model). recently my VGRS system stopped working. (from time to time my steering kept going off center, most time 180 degrees of center)

After getting my local workshop to inspect, we found out that the VGRS system had packed up, with pieces broken off the unit. So reluctantly with little choice I replaced it. Now everything is fixed back together with no error codes, but suddenly I feel that the steering is very tight when turning at low speed.

Few questions
1). Can you adjust the torque on the VGRS to make it easier to turn.
2). Is there any other adjustment ?
3). Is there any way I can test the new VGRS for optimal performance?
4). Is there something that might have happened during installation?

BTW I also replaced the ball joints. (I doubt it can add this much of a resistance).

Any help is really appreciated. Thanks

Just to update this post, after driving the vehicle for about 2 week I found that the steering feels a bit lighter. So either I have got used to the tightness steering or the cause of the tight steering were the ball joints that I replaced.
