When I turn on the GX and the steering wheel moves into position it squeaks. Before I tear into it, has anyone had and fixed this issue? Thanks!

I fixed this on my 470 by removing the plastic cover behind the wheel and lubricating the shaft and threaded rod with bicycle chain lube. This was a 15 minute job and it's been fine ever since. You need some kind of a tacky/sticky lube for these components. The OEM grease eventually dries out and they start squeaking.

Came here to say the exact same thing. I had this problem on my 470 as well. The 460 has the same cover and probably same mechanism. Easy job.

Thanks! I figured it would be a simple lube job, but any tip helps. I’ll look up what type of lube might be used, but if I can’t find it I’ll get some chain lube.

The OEM lube appears to be some kind of white lithium grease. I forgot that I actually tried that first (from a spray can) and the squeak reappeared. Mountain bike chain lube (DuMonde) is really sticky while still being able to flow, so it worked much better.

I'm not sure how the trim behind the wheel comes off on a 460. On a 470 there are 3 Phillips screws to remove it. A set of plastic trim levers also help pop the cover halves off once the screws are removed.

460 is the same. Two screws facing the driver that you have to turn the wheel to get. One screw under the wheel. Then pry apart. Probably the same part haha. I think the only difference is a little pleather top flap that connects the column with the dash on the 460 that I don't remember on my 470.

Easy peasy. Squeak went away after I removed the plastic trim lol. Applied the Muc-Off on the hinges and worked it in a few times. Should be good to go.
