JUNK ARM JUNK ARM PERIOD

;)

Get yourself a new one, center your steering wheel again, and you will be good to go. Oh, and don't waste your time with a pitman arm puller other than a Snap On.

Good luck!

Will do----CHEERS!!!!!

is it flat? Looks bent to me, and if it was bent, it would probably also be bent up and down and kinda turned over, as well as side to side (which it looks to be). The flat part that the tie rod bolts to should be in the same plane as the flat end that bolts to the box.

Picture group one, picture two clearly reveals this....

Dustin,

Looking at it more closely now that you have both pointed it out it is definetely twisted as well, The two flat surfaces are not in line and I can see a twist in the arm also. I'll have to look for a beefier version on line or something.

Thanks,
Paul

ID this power steering unit?

Can you identify this power steering unit. As you can see I need to replace the pitman arm and I don't know where to get one. I would like to put on a stronger unit if you know where that could be found also.

Thanks

What could cause the bump steer on a stock vehicle?? No power steering. New springs, bushes, shackles and shocks fitted, except for the steering damper. Even the Steering box is overhauled, not sure how professional though. Pitman arm and Tie-rods also new. I basically replaced the complete Steering, except for Steering column and wheel.

I experienced that problem from start of the 4" lift, even on road going over small bumps or through small holes. With each bump Steering wheel moves from center to 20deg left or 20deg right, but after a few minutes driving seems to center itself again. Vehicle still runs straight.

Not sure if my problem is the same as explained by originator of this thread.

I do however suspect the problem in the box.
