Just my little experience, but autozone didn't have one (or know what it was)... but the guys at Checker let me see a huge chart of what they had to borrow and I found it right away.

Pulled mine right off...no problems? Was I missing something?

I've had good luck using an air/impact gun with a "pickle fork"; works well for me; pops off in about 3 seconds a side. Also have used a manual (non-impact) pickle fork and a BFH; takes 10 seconds a side.

I had to remove the mounts and put it in a vise. Probably spent the most time on that during the whole lift.

Heat, pickle fork/BFH, repeat. It WILL come loose eventually. And at that moment, you will reach a state of perfect bliss.

FWIW, I borrowed (on the loan-a-tool projram) a tie-rod end puller from Autozone. Just to make sure you know what to look for, it's a U-shaped piece with returns on the end of the U that seat on the bracket are. There's a large diameter theaded bolt that runs through the middle of the tool. Seat it, tighten the bolt until it pops free.

BTW, almost any auto store will have the pickle forks. Will trash the grease boot, but if your tossing the stabilizer, that won't matter. Takes a lot of force to break them loose.

i have that same gun but i dont know where to find the pickle fork?
SEARS sells a kit for about $35 with a couple of forks that work with the air gun; I don't like the design however ie: two piece. NAPA sells some high quality forks for use with the gun, they will last a lifetime, but the list price is around $75. I would assume that Harbor Frieght also carries them. Ditto, they will most likely damage the boots, so be careful if you plan on reusing the stabilizer.

thanks for all the helpful options, ill see what i can fork up tommorrow

Good thread with pics of pickle forks and pullers here.

i just removed my steering stabilizer today.i used a tie rod fork .did not cost me a thing .got it at autozone as a loaner tool and left a small fee which was refunded when i returned it .the old stabilizer came off in just a couple of minuted.i used a heavy hammer not your ordinary nail hammer a heavier one about 5 lbs....i finally finished my rig
