Hello, I have a saginaw PS setup and the steering shaft looks homemade linked by a couple of spicer joints. The joint spline in the spicer yoke that connects to the saginaw box is completely stripped out. I think whoever put it on, either used the wrong one or didn't tighten it down all the way and all the splines are about worn smooth. I looked for a replacement spicer yoke, but I can't seem to find the specs for the actual yoke I need and there is no part number on the piece.

I'd like to just get a replacement yoke and put it back together. If I can't find the yoke, I may just try to get a new steering shaft as this one is definitely home made.

1) does anyone know what yoke this is and where to find it?
or
2) does anyone have a good solution for a new steering shaft that is a plug and play?

Thanks for any assistance.

Not necessarily plug and play but try looking at Flaming River. That is where I bought the items I need to do a steering conversion.

Is your steering column a Toyota column?

The reason I ask is my FJ40 has had the Saginaw power steering conversion. At the time they also installed a tilt Chevrolet column but it looks like they cut the splined end off the Toyota column and welded it to the Chevrolet column. I was less than pleased with the execution, and am in the process of replacing several parts. I have the Borgeson universal joints and telescoping shaft.

If this is something you're interested in shoot me a PM.

As strange as this sounds, you might try Tractor Supply or a Farm and Fleet type store in your area. I've found U joints there and I think they had yokes too. My yokes are welded to the column and steering shaft.

Its been a minute but IIRC it's 32 spline on the input to steering box, thats an easy google search or search on here. the shaft side should be a D.
On the saginaws depending on what u-joint you use sometimes the tip needs to be cut off on the saginaw box, its a non splined little stub that gets whacked off.

Saginaw boxes have one of 3 different splines. 3/4” by 30 spline, 3/4” by 36 spline, and 13/16” by 36 spline. Since the universal joint shown is not Spicer or Borgeson no telling what it is, has kinda an FJ60 look to it???. No matter what you end up with make sure you system has a slip yoke or slip feature in it. We conducted test and found the steering gear box moves about 3/8” due to frame flex during off road travel.

Thanks, it does have a slip feature to it. It's homemade and looks kinda hokey, but it's sturdy. I really thought that was a spicer steering yoke??? it looks exactly like all of the spicer parts I find on web. I was looking at the Spicer 10-4-601SX. The box has 7826692 stamped in the side. I think it's a 30 on 36 spline??? does that make sense at all? It has a flat spot on the input shaft where there are no splines. I am going to measure the shaft when I get to where the box is. Someone told me today that the number 7826692 box should be a 3/4" but I thought I had measured it at 13/16" last week. Got to double check myself.

Is there a semi affordable option for a drop in steering shaft for this application? I am no fabricator, so I was just trying to put back what was there.

Thanks again for the info.

UPDATE... JUST MEASURED - 30 SPLINE 3/4"

I was doing some internet searching.
Like you said it looks like a Spicer yoke. When you count the splines you have figure how many splines it had b4 the flat was machined. Lay a flat edge across the diameter of the boxes input covering the flat spot and count the exposed splines then x2 for spline count. I have a similar yoke except the center hole was large enuff for the dd shaft fit it.
