I've been trying to dig up information on the manual steering gear box but can only seem to find power steering conversions. I'm trying to update the steering on the 40 and have everything worked out except for this component. What grease/oil goes in it? I think I remember people using red Mobil instead of oil. The FSM doesn't seem to show any wearable components except for one gasket which I can find from SOR. Has anyone done this? Any threads on it? Thanks in advance. Mine has leaked all over the frame.

Mine does the same, and I've just come to the conclusion that I wasn't going to mess with the manual steering. I picked up the mini-truck box for $30 and the Saginaw pump for about the same. Just need the brackets before doing the conversion.

Not sitting infront of my book right now but it should be 80/90 weight in the box. It is a pain to build i can tell you that. Not hard per say, just a pain with the bearings in there. I use transmission assy grease to keep them together in the little tube going back together.
