I’ve been eyeing those tires for a little bit now.
those rims look pretty sweet...photoshop time.
Fast track to getting those 35" Kendas on your rig... for Alaska... just sayin'.

I do like the tires so far, although I haven't really taken them off road yet. They were half the price of any other 37's I could find (these are 37x12.50R17). Also, those wheels are also fairly inexpensive and you can custom order them. I got these as reverse dish so I could get 2.75" backspacing. 17x8. US Wheel is easy to work with.

I meant to also say - the painted hubcaps on J Mack's look sweet. If I add caps I may steal that look.

I have the same US Wheels and opted not to get the clips. I'm curious how hard it is to get the caps off on the wheels with the modified clips.
Not a big deal at all, I have a junk trim removal kit and I've been using one of the wedge plastic things that came in the kit to pop off the cap and not scratch up the finish on the rim.

I’ve been posting this in my build thread but thought I would also post here if it will help someone else looking for wheel options.

I’ve been wanting to go to steel wheels and tall skinny tires since I built my pig but unfortunately something else kept getting in the way and I’ve had to wait until recently to make the switch.

I had originally planned to go to a 16” wheel but all of the 35”X10” tires I was finding where 17” and 17” wheel options are limited to just a few. Not sure how any of this was going to look I pick up a set of US wheel Rat Rod in 17”X7” with a 3.5” back space and planned to add some type of clip for the Toyota hubcaps once I got the wheels here. After ordering several types of clips and none of them working out I just chucked up my wheels in my rotary table on my mill and drilled them so I could attach the caps with screws. The screws are less than ideal but it was quick and easy got me on the road.

To order these wheels I had to call Summit Racing and give them the specs I wanted, the part number was 69-8712-spec. These wheels can be ordered in 15"-16"-17" in various width and back spacing.

@ukaviator

Hmm...bad photoshop.

Who wants to buy some slightly used 255 Yokomaha's :cool:

I mocked up some 4” BS Smooth Vintique wheels on my 55 today. They will fit as long as the tire shop uses the proper steel wheel weights on the inside lip

Sounds like a hard task for a tyre shop.... well... it's a hard task for a tyre shop over here anyway hahaha

got them balanced up today and they used flat aluminum wheel weights. None on the lips.

The older 15” wheels have big rivets inside the wheel that hold the centers to the ring. That hits the calipers.
The 76+ are welded and

Nolen, sweet discount on these...the list price here in Atlanta is similar. I'm looking for a set, dealerships have the inventory but the price is high and they won't budge. Any tricks to get a discount other than having a shop? Thanks

$140 per wheel, no caps, pick-up is local so no shipping. Corps is $156 per wheel. After seeing your win with Brookhaven it's making it hard to pull the trigger :)

A little tech for these Summit Smooth Vintique wheels.

80s and earlier have M12 lugs and The Vintique have M14 holes.

Turns out the stock acorn lug nuts were not deep enough to properly center these wheels and I was having some road vibration.

I ordered some deeper lugs and they cured the problem

I got my Dexstar wheels in. They look great and for the price they look even more beautiful!

@G-Cat
Thank you for posting my thread in here.

I love finding better ways to saving money and to put in a little bit of work to what we need! Aka cheaper steelies!

For me I found my information in one of @wngrog threads, as a matter of fact it was so long ago I had to IM him to refresh my memory about those wheels and tire combo.

So thank you @wngrog for your knowledge and expertise!

That wheel and tire combo is a perfect fit. And man do they ride nice!
