Just got off the phone with an ARB rep. and was told that a good way to get another 1"-1.5" out of an OME lift was to weld blocks onto the spring perches. Was wondering if anyone has done this in the past? Also if this does work, I would need to add shims also? Front and back shims? He said is is better, easier and cheaper than a body lift and then in the future if you want to go another 1" or so you can do shackles... Just ordered the OME kit for my 86' HJ60 and will have it here in Costa Rica in two weeks!! Will post pics when it is done. Thanks

Is yours spring under axle? If it is a block will lower your truck the thickness of that block not raise it.

The cruiser suspension is spring-under. So when you add a block to the spring perch, it will move the axle up relative to the spring, which is the same as lowering the truck. On a spring-over, an axle block will give more lift.

A body lift is pretty cheap and easy.

DUH!!!

Oh yeah! I knew that something did not look correct when I was trying yo figure out how it would work. Guess the ARB guy is as good as me when it comes to these things. Anyway, trying to figure out the best way to achieve around 4" without doing a spring over since I do need new springs but do not want 7" with OME and SOA.

Longer shackles are one option. A body lift is another. Some do a combo of both.

It sounds like to me the ARB guy is talking about where the spring attaches to the frame, not under the axel. I've seen it done on lots of lifted american trucks.
