Hi All,

I realize this is pretty last minute but wasn't able to commit until now, and this is I feel the last chance for good camping in the OBX until the fall so I'm going for it!

I will be camping the outer banks the weekend of May 16th-19th. I've reserved a spot at Frisco Campground Friday-Monday at Site F005 and will add Monday if I am able to swap that day with Memorial day (will find out soon). Still ironing out the plan but wanting to be there friday early evening probably, driving from Charlotte.

I'll have room for a 2nd vehicle at my site and F003 and F002 are also still available as of writing. Planning to do some beach driving and fishing including going down the the southern tip of Ocracoke for a while. Fishing the inlet would be cool too but never done it so not sure what's involved there. I'll be camping either in a tent or in my 200.

If I'm able to get it I also have a plan A (Frisco is plan B) for a private camping spot in Carova beach - Carova sands Camping | Corolla, North Carolina - https://thedyrt.com/camping/north-carolina/carova-sands. Looks like a pretty spot but no hookups or anything. If the guy gets back to me and it's available I'd prefer to do that but didn't want to miss out on a spot at Frisco if it doesn't pan out.

If anyone wants to come but has a better idea for a spot or other plans or just wants to meet up for the day or something let me know I'm flexible.

Hoping that someone can come with!

Sounds like a fun trip, wish I could join you. If you plan on going down to Ocracoke, note that the ferry ride is about an hour in each direction from Hatteras. There is a campground down there as well. You could head back to the mainland from Ocracoke via the ferry to Swans Quarter, that way you don't have to backtrack to Hatteras.

Yeah I stayed at that campground before on a one way South - North loop of the OBX. Depend on timing I may go either way.

Last time I did the Cedar Island ferry but taking that ferry back might be the way to go.

I heard they are adding additional ferries from both cedar island and swans quarter this year.

I booked my camp site from Friday until Wednesday. I am staying at D002, stayed here before and I liked the site.

Sounds good! Puts you a bit away from us but we can hang out at one campsite or another. Extended my camp site til monday, was able to swap the 19th for Memorial day.

Ol Kurt is always up for a fishing trip!

How did your new 200 hold up?

He definitely is!

Good question, it held up very well! It was great on the trip there and back which is where an older truck would lack. Minus one time where I stopped in some pretty loose sand (which is on me) it didn't miss a beat. This kind of trip is exactly why I bought it and I can say that I'm very pleased. Parking next to Kurt's 80 though did remind me how excellent and timeless the styling on the 80 is though and makes me want a front bumper as well so that'll have to happen at some point.

Ha, let the build begin!
