Anyone know............what the stock height of a 40? And where's it measured from?

Trying to figure out where I am and where I need to go to fit 33s...

33's will fit under a stock 40, but you will definitely be rubbing and tearing up your tires and fender's/wheel wells off-road. I ran a stock setup on 33x12.5x15 tires before recently putting a 4" lift kit on, and I tore up my tires and fenders. I would also rub at full turning radius on the street (parking lots).

Everyone says minimum 2.5" lift for 33's, but you may even get some rub at full articulation. Maybe some of the 2.5 guys can chime in with their feedback.

Does this help? Disregard the highlighted 1200 dimension.

Stock height is 29.33" or 745 mm from the surface of the bed to the ground.

I've got 2.5" Rancho springs on an otherwise stock '73, with 33 x 9.50 tires on stock steel rims. Never get too extreme, but I've never rubbed, even at full turn.

Looking to run 33x12.5x15s on 2.5" lift w/o cutting fenders......anyone have pics?

It should look similar to Maui Cruiser's rig since he is running 33x9.5 tires on a 2.5" lift with everything else stock (which looks really nice, by the way), and you are looking at the same setup with just slightly wider tires.

Here is mine with 33x12.5x15 tires and a 4" lift for comparison.
