Speaking of Color...

Pretty insignificant post but Marshall's poll on soft top colors made me think of my old Olive Drab 40. I try not to beat a dead horse, but I really miss this thing. For those of you who don't know, this is a pic of my 72' 40 I spent 6yrs rebuilding just to come home one night and find someone had stolen it --- in the broad daylight too!

To some extent....seems all the DMV searches require a 17 digit VIN in order to search the database. 1981+ vehicles have 17 digit vins. Since mine was a 72, I've had no luck. I have a few friends at the City/County law enforcement offices that keep an eye out locally, but that's about it at this point. Any tips/pointers to search VIN databases would be greatly appreciated. However, I feel as if it's been ditched or most probably stripped to pieces by now.
