Hoping there are some combustion experts on here that can answer this .

If you are running a lean tune will a regular (factory) spark gap be too small to combust a leaned out mixture especially if the temperature is cold ie "cold start" ?
 
This may yield clues to your question:


To much below factory 1.1mm gap, say below ~0.09mm, may yield to small of a spark. With the Denso TT plugs we do gap tighter/smaller at 1mm. But those are special thinn (0.04mm) electrode plugs.

Wouldn't cold OAT shrink air & fuel molecules. Yielding more full & air, than hot days making its way to intake manifold & cylinders.

How are you leaning the mixture?
