You may have already said this, have you tried to heat it up and did you fix the leak?

What was the weather like where it was sitting, was it cold? You may have already said these things.......just rushing through real quick. Was it was drained completly before winter? When you set it up at home did water come out? I think you may had some water in there, after all that is the lowest point in the system. I figure a few minutes worth of work on the joint and you may find the heater may be find?

Sorry, should read up but was in a hurry. about the only way your going to find out is fix the coupling(if I looked at the picture correctly?) I mean if the heater is toast the worst that will happen is it will not heat up or pump then you will have to drain it again. I think you said its a 220 unit so you will know pretty quick if its heating up unlike my last 110 unit which took up to 12 hours to reach 98 degrees.

Had it working as it was filling up. 1st fill ever. The hot tub came with the house we bought. It's been sitting outside on the back patio for several years unfilled according to the PO. Getting after it fast since my 12 YO wants it for her Bday party this weekend. Repairman came by (recommended by friends) and said the heater was shot and that fitting blown. It's only gonna cost about 350, so he's supposed to be back tomorrow with a new heating unit.

Well, long story short, he replaced the heater, cleaned up the wiring (which was arcing inside the control box), and brought us a bunch of chemicals. On top of that, he gave me a crash course in hot tub maintenance and water treatment. He did a great job, IMO. The tub is full and is hot as of this morning!!!! WHOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!! Beta testing tonight!

220V tubs heat so much faster than the 110V models. We keep the temp. between 102* and 103*. Have fun.

That's hot. I could only stay in there for a few minutes at that temp.

98/99 is about pefect even in the dead of winter with 2 foot I might raise it 1 degree if the cover is off a long time. Only time I can remoltly enjoy a hot tub is in the dead of winter:)

I usually like 102* for myself and can stay in there awhile. My son turns it up to 104* sometimes and I can only stay in it for 5-10 mins. It's amazing what a difference 1 or 2 degrees makes. You're right, we use it mostly when it's cool. When the weather heats up, usage goes down.

I put up two of those small squirrel cage fans and have them blow on you while I'm in it during the summer. They help a whole lot.

But nothing beats being it it while it is snowing and your beer is sitting in the snow on the side.

When I got out of college I worked for an apartment complex that had a outdoor spa. We kept that thing at something like 105degrees to keep people from staying in it long. Condoms in the skimmer made for a crappy morning.

yea its all down to personal wants and my pansey cannot handle 104 degrees:D

Mine's set for 101 right now and we'll adjust it accordingly. We have 4 kids, so I don't want it too hot for them. Mostly, I just hope it will make my injuries feel better.
