Well, this certainly isn't a winter project anymore but I finally got around to freshening up the old 80 series a bit.

Picked up some grey herculiner to go ahead and finish off my fender flare removal. I initially just did the flares, but felt it would look best to cover the entire section of moonglow pearl, and it came out pretty well.

I've got a few imperfections to finish off and it certainly isn't professional grade, but it looks damn good for the amount of time, effort, and money I put into it. I don't think you can beat the cost vs. benefit of a good roll on bedliner.

A shot of "before" for reference and some "during" pics that I snapped. I'll have to get a better shot of the completed job.

looks good and seems like the herculiner gets pretty decent reviews so it should last for while.

The LED's are excellent... they're really helpful when camping!

Got some more interior stuff done to raise the comfort level a bit. I figured it was about time I started treating the old girl a bit better.

OEM cupholder, LX steering wheel, OEM floormats, modded the CB to sit back further in the ashtray slot, and an air freshener.

Next up will be wiring up a new trailer harness so I can tow what will be a future project... special thanks to tekada for this gem!

Once I wire up a new set of lights, I'm going to get it inspected and titled. Can't wait!

Initial plans will be mounting the roof top tent and swapping in a 3500 lb. axle with some toyota wheels.

It's ugly as sin right now, but I'm hoping that a little bit of grinding, filer, and cheapo paint will at least get it presentable enough to be towed behind the wagon. I wouldn't mind having it done by this summer, but a lot of that will depend on what it's going to take to get her licensed.

Got a package in from a Japan this morning... some OEM hand throttle goodness for the 80.

A little something for winching, and to add some JDM bling. Don't mind the interior, she needs a cleaning:

Nice!

I did the group buy to acquire one myself.

I'm also considering your theory of being under the radar cool, before rawking a CDL out of a Rav4 is cool ... or something like that :)

Haha, yeah, it's like a whole new echelon of insider info... you can see the Rav4 switch in that photo. Much cooler than the horizontal logo, in my opinion...
