Have (or will shortly) an 85 FJ60. SPrings are totally flat, shackles replaced with home depot parts. I know ccot sells stock springs for 2 grand, but that seems pretty excessive. Are there good parts supply shops around? does toyota still sell these?

Does anyone here have a good set lying around following an OME lift or something?

I'll probably go OME dakkar when the funds free up, but till then I think new shocks, new(er) springs, and I'll be set for a while.

Thanks for the leads.

call toyota, get the price for OEM's
when you wake up , and pick yourself up off the floor, go to MAF, and get the 0" lift springs.
i like mine

Go too the "parts for sale" section of this forum. See my stock springs listed there as well as a few others. Fronts near perfect, rears near flat. shackles included...You'll not find used springs that are not pretty flat in the rear. But may be better than yours. Photos on my ad too.

I've meant to do this myself - check with cdan since they are still available from toyota. I would like these myself knowing they'd last another 200,000 miles which isn't the case with aftermarket springs.

Post what cdan comes up with.

Who makes the 0" lift? I was on the phone with maf yesterday and they didn't mention it when i was talking about "very little lift" desired.

Stock springs are something like $700+ APIECE. So that's a no go. I've got a set of fronts for sure and maybe a set of rears to go with them in a week or two. Where are you located?

1. If you can find a set of fronts, I have a good set of stock rears with decent arch left in them. Im in Omaha, NE.

2.You could try the MAF long add-a-leafs to return a little arch back to your own stockers.

3. Live with them flat until you can afford to get the lift springs you really want.

4. Go spring over. Flat springs are what you want for SOA.

mini-hijack, but related

so, there's a great (reputable) spring and axle shop where I live; I had the rears on my FSB re-arched at 1" over standard
Is that not an option or is it a bad idea? My originals are flat, I figured I'd go re-arched + 1" + 2 1/2 greasable shackles

Thanks for all the responses. I'm in New York City. I could probably swing the OME, but my real issue is that I just don't want or need the truck to get that high. I'd rather have stock height, but it doesn't seem to make much sense to shell out a load of cash to get it to stock. MAF was telling me their medium/heavy kit is 2" in front, and 3" in the rear. I'm just having trouble picturing the differences - what it should look like stock, and how it would end up with the OME lift. What do you think shipping would run on the springs from Omaha and Chi-town?

This is what I have. Haven't even taken delivery yet, so I'm curious as to why it seems lifted. The shackles worry me.

I would be concerned about the shackles also. They look very weak. By the looks of them, they are responsible for the little bit of lift you have.

Hodag, it looks lifted in the front as well though, no?

Man-a-Fre sells stock height replacement springs for around $110 a corner IIRC. I used those when I went SOA and I love them so far.
