I am selling a 2F Remanufactured (Reman) Long block: Powertrain Direct description, “TOYOTA 2F COMP ENGINE 81-87. 4230CC. WITH AIR. WITH POWER STEERING. 8 BOLTS TOTAL FOR INTAKE & EXHAUST”.

Long story short, I purchased an 85 Landy out of Billings MT two years ago, the cruiser had about 2k miles on a newly installed remanufactured long block installed from the local Toyota Dealer. I flew up from Kansas, purchased the vehicle and drove it home 1100 miles, ran great. At about 4K miles, my number 2 plug was starting to get fouled, we performed a lead down test and the manufacturer decided to take the engine back for another complete “reman” build. It was sent off last DEC 2016 for the build, I just received it back mid AUG. Meanwhile, I sourced a very low mileage 08 Sierra with a 5.3L that will go back into the LC.

Who performed the build? This is hard to understand but I believe I have it right, someone correct me if I am out of sequence. The long block was purchased from POWERTRAIN DIRECT who sells ATK engines, who is owned by the LKQ corporation. LKQ warrantied the block, and the engine was sent back to Washington State to the ATK engine factory for the build.

Here is a link to their 2F Long Block: https://www.powertrainproducts.net/TOYOTA-2F-4-2-L6-COMP-ENGINE-p/177.htm The engine is exactly as you see it in the pics on their website.

It is still in the plastic in their shipping crate. Comes with new Aisin Oil Pump, and all gaskets (see pics below). There is no core charge or tax.

Shipping cost will be from Leavenworth KS.

Pics include: Before I sent it off, engine in the crate with oil pump and gasket kit.

I do have all the other peripherals that you see in the pic of the engine installed, was going to post them separately after the long block sold and no one had to have all the parts with this engine. Note worthy parts include: Trollhole Carb, Jim C. rebuilt low mileage Dissy (recurve) never installed, Jim C. Desmog pully and bracket (replaces the smog pump) never installed, and Georg's (Valley Hybrids & Cruiser Brothers) complete Saginaw PS conversion kit minus the pump (never installed).

MUD price for long block is $3k plus shipping. Wanted to give all my MUD brothers 1st crack at this before it goes on Ebay, other.

Are they still providing warranty coverage on it and, if so, how long is left and is it transferable?

Unfortunately, the three year warranty on it runs out this November, a few months from now. Also, they will only transfer the warranty once to a 2nd owner which was me.

I am with you, would want to see some kind of guarantee for that kind of money on a agreed upon period of time. If there is something wrong that could not be remedied at a local shop, I would refund the monies once the engine is sent back to Kansas.

Yes, there is risk on both parties, but it is very low (I'm a retired Army guy, it's been beat into me to always do a risk assessment before you buy or sell anything). I am 99.99 percent confident this long block is perfect in every way.

Yea, that's why I'm surprised there isn't more interest in this as a alternative. This was redone at one of the country's premier facilities where everything is put back together as it came brand new. Someone will want this eventually.

I'm gonna buy this as long as Fastnal is sending stuff to MS. It will save me $1000. Be dumb not to.
I agree , you need it worse than I do but if it falls through lemme know, if I can round up the $ I'd love to have it

If I didn't have half of that tied up in a 200k mile drivetrain already, I'd snag it for my dead 60.

Still debating if Nolen passes.

If the long block wasn't good enough, the engine shipping crate is awesome, I don't know if you can even buy them. Great for some one who moves engines around. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Do you have the rebuilt dissy for sale?

I don't need any of his accessories so I assume he does.

I wish this engine was posted 3 months ago. I just spent $4,500.00 rebuilding mine. I needed another head, another block and new crank as well a some other parts. My engine was a complete disaster.
