I am selling this steering wheel off a ‘67. It was restored by Jimmy/birdhead last year. You can see there are what I would call welts in the outer ring at 1 o clock and five o clock, and two hairline cracks at 12 and 7. The hub is solid, and the cosmetic repairs there have held. $300 plus the ride from Burbank

You can post or leave a VM at the shop to follow up. 818-953-9230. No PMs please

Mark, I don’t “need” it but I’ll give you $250 if you include shipping to 30316.

Thanks
Michael

Interestingly enough, I have an appointment on Thursday for a potential sale locally.😉 I will keep your offer in mind Michael in case it doesn’t pan out.

Birdhead I think is no longer doing these last I spoke with him, so they’ll only get harder to find in this condition. GLWS
Good to know, but sad to hear. ☹️ Jimmy made a lot of people happy.

If your local sale doesn’t work out let me know.

Thanks
Michael

That he did, and it’s a real PITA to restore one of these. So those that he made happy - be thankful!

Mark I'll hop in line and take it if the others pass. This spline count should work on a 25 I believe since its pre-68? I could use one for my FHT if I can’t get the original restored. Certainly your local sale and @71-CRUISER were in line before me though.

What are you need this for? These don't work on the FJ2X series.

To my knowledge these wheels were the same in 61. 61 used the same turn signal switch as other 40s up thru the 72 model. Only change in the steering wheel was 7/69 when the spline count changed from 36 to 33. Interesting my early 61 FJ40 which is a rust bucket had a very nice steering wheel.

Wheel has been sold. 😊

The customer was very appreciative that I didn’t follow up on any of the other offers and held the wheel on his word alone. He bought several hundred dollars of other stuff while he was here. Just the type of business I am always working towards.😊
