My cruiser is covered by toyota care for the first 4 years. Anyone got a dealer they like that won't mess up my truck?

I'd rather get this stuff done for free but will do it myself if no one has a dealer they trust.

Thanks,
Paul

I used one of Toyota dealerships in south Orange county.

It was interesting they were able to check my in cabin air filter with the glovebox locked when they weren't given the key to the glovebox. Still haven't check if they broke the air recirculating thingy or the air filter to see if they're just lying to get paid by big T.

Wish I had something helpful, other than pay attention to the service slip and double check their work.

My first choice is Cabe Toyota in Long Beach but it’s too far unless I need something big done.

For regular stuff and when I can’t go to Long Beach I use Mozy at Toyota Escondido. He’s a great service writer (might be service manager now). They are fair and I have had good luck with them.

Years ago I used Toyota of Escondido (ToE) to get some problems fixed on my 1990 FJ62... They were slow and painfully expensive, and failed to resolve the problems in any way. And were completely unapologetic about the matter, going so far as to tell me to feel free to report them to the CA Bureau of Auto Repair if I wanted. I've never been back to the place. The truck was getting horrible mileage and running very rich; ToE replaced the catalytic converters, O2 sensors, ECU and fuel injectors at great expense. On someone's recommendation I took the truck to Mark's Automotive in Escondido which was alleged to be 'the' TLC place in north county in the mid-90's (it's now Brian's Automotive) and the technician there identified the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel bar as the culprit... A $60 part and maybe 2 hours of labor to troubleshoot and replace. Not to mention the very first item listed in the FSM to check for the specific blinky light error 'code' from the ECU. I've been a loyal Brian's Automotive customer ever since. Perhaps ToE has improved since the late 90's, I doubt they could've gotten worse.
