I've seen it listed on Vroom and read the Reddit thread. Wow - hell of a story!

Importing a vehicle that's less than 25 years old is against import rules. Wouldn't customs have caught that?

There's a bill of lading with a VIN that isn't valid:

JTMHY7AJSD4012767

Maybe someone transposed the 5 to an S? If so, why? Would customs suddenly allow a vehicle which has an invalid VIN?

I would be really interested to see the carfax for the real VIN (JTMHY7AJ5D4012767), which should show the vehicle history. If the original VIN wasn't shipped over to Nigeria first, then I call BS on the story.

Yeah - the story sounds fishy....but if I was that dude I'd be looking around like crazy for loose diamonds before I returned the car! :)

Does not say the 200 came from africa, just that the general was from africa. I am sure living someplace like Florida beats Nigeria.

LOL, I was waiting on this thread to show up.

PS, it's not me!

bought(or traded for diamonds) in US, exported to Africa and came back would make since.

oddly.....I actually believe this "story" as crazy as it is

There's a bill of lading on reddit showing it was imported from Nigeria. Whether that's true or not is another matter.

I think it's entirely BS. But who knows besides the "buyer" ?
