Selling my truck tomorrow…..getting an American funded SUV!! I am so screwed!!! Toyota maybe, recalled V6’s and a 4 cylinder hybrid…. All these decisions…..I can’t decide!!!
This was not a critic of your truck nor your decision. I posted that link because it relates to Nissan/Infiniti. FYI for you or anyone else. Stop being so darn defensive dude. I have no idea about tax funded whatever you said...not sure if relevant to Nissan's future to be honest...so not sure why u barking up that tree. (For the record, Ford did not accept assistance from government.) I drive a POS American truck that will break down any day now. I don't care. I love it.

Ford accepts all the government subsidies for the EV program, along with me paying for everyone that buys EV’s with the $7500 tax credit….big truck are not Toyotas deal anymore . I wanted to buy a Lexus or Toyota but they have left me behind!!! Not buying a Texas made Sequoia which are Way over priced.

For the record, Ford did not accept assistance from government.
Ford did not take free federal money through TARP, but they did accept billions in low-interest loans. It’s unclear from a quick search if they have paid those back yet. I saw two numbers: Ford accepted $5.9B right away, and Ford Credit registered to take $15.9B. Still a far cry from what GM and Chrysler got.

The domestics’ failing EV ventures can largely be traced back to conditions of receiving TARP assistance and these other federal loans.

According to Mr Google, Ford paid back in full the loan in 2022.

Don’t know much about EV subsidies, but Ford did take a huge beating on their (failed?) EV program.

But most of their cash flow is from their F series truck sales and commercial vehicles.

As for Toyota SUVs, recently my truck had to go to Discount Tire for new tires (Defender M/S2) and I drove my wife’s 2023 Lexus GX for a whole day. Wow. That thing just screams high end quality! Smooth. Everything you touch is so screwed on tight. It is like a solid granite on wheels.

What did you get ? 👌🏿

TOKYO (AP) — Japanese automakers Honda and Nissan have announced plans to work toward a merger that would form the world’s third-largest automaker by sales, as the industry undergoes dramatic changes in its transition away from fossil fuels.

The two companies said they had signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday and that smaller Nissan alliance member Mitsubishi Motors Corp. also had agreed to join the talks on integrating their businesses.

Automakers in Japan have lagged behind their big rivals in electric vehicles and are trying to cut costs and make up for lost time as newcomers like China’s BYD and EV market leader Tesla devour market share.

Hope they produce and sell a $20k non lux 4x4.
