Not trying to derail the thread but I would love to hear what do you use and how you tie things up to the basket when carrying stuff. I am always afraid things will fly away.
I tried multiple methods:
1. A large bungy fishnet with caribiner and heavy duty plastic hooks (check on amazon) which holds everything together great from beach chairs, body boards, fishing rods, pails, shovels and wet clothes in trashbag. The only thing which flies a bit is body boards. Placement direction is the key. most of them needs to be put in a way it just doesn't slide back eventually with air resistance. so i put big bulky stuff to back.

Bungy fishnet is best as you can load a lot on the basket almost maxing its weight. Like a big cooler box etc as it stretches a bit to hold it.

2. A weather proof roof bag which I place it inside the basket. This is best if you care about rain, dirt and dust. things stay in place and does looks as hoardie as a bungy fishnet.

3. Cover everything with a large tarp and rope. This is cheaper and ok but creates some road noise if not tied well and difficult to remove anything or even load and tie everything down.
