First! Hello, I am Jeff. This is my first post. I've been modifying anything with wheels for about 12 years now and it just keeps getting worse. I recently departed with my 2016 Tacoma mainly because I am 6'2" and I was never comfortable in it. I am now on the hunt for something bigger. Prior to the Tacoma I had a 2014 Tundra. That was comfortable and huge. I am still considering another one, but I also like to give an SUV a try. I searched high and low for an affordable 200-Series with low mileage. That was a unicorn that will be hard to find. So now I am considering the 150-Series/GX 460. After doing a ton of research it became apparent the the GX 460 was a very under rated off-roader. I don't do a ton of aggressive off-roading but enough to warrant more ground clearance and larger tires.

So lets jump right in.

I'd like to run a 17" wheel, mainly because I like having the most tire possible.

1) With a 17x8.5" Wheel is anyone running a 0mm offset? I have a couple of wheel options that offer a 18mm offset, however the wheel's I'd really like to run are 0mm offset. I know the more positive offset the better the tires will fit. I am just curious if anyone has experience or examples of a GX 460 with 0mm offset?

I'd like to even out the stance, but I do not want to exceed 2" of lift.

2) This is the current OME system I think will work for what I am trying to achieve.

Front Shock: 90010
Front Coil: 2883
Rear Shock: 60080
Rear Coil: 2895E

Welcome. The 150 platform is definitely underutilized here in the US for off road adventures, but there's plenty of good Prado porn on the internet if you want to see the Aussie's enjoying and modifying theirs. I haven't seen anyone down size from the 18's - but maybe there's some more data on the 4Runner forums with fitting 17's? Whatever works for that crowd in terms of wheel fitament should translate to the GX. Tire clearance is likely a bit different.

@onepremiere I don't know about the offsets exactly, but I do know that 17" wheels will fit on the GX460. With 2" of lift you can easily run 33" tires, but how wide I don't have any idea. My old suspension set up I was able to fit 275/70r18's (slightly over 33" tall) with about 1" of lift. I now have Ironman Foam Cell Pro's and could go up in tire size if I wanted to.

Bump for updates from the OP - did you end up getting a GX & following your mod path?

Did you end up going 17" wheels? I go back & forth between 17" FN Konig Six Shooter vs FN BFD 18". I love both looks, low offset, will mount BFG KO2 tires, 275 or 285 seems about max width you can go without serious plastic trimming...

View attachment 1454355 I run Evo Corse with 0 offest. 2" of lift on BP51 and 34/10.5/17 KO2. HAd to push the front plastic in a little .
Throwing this back a bit. But looking to do something similar with a Kenda Klever 33 x 10.5 on the TRD pro wheels 7.0” wheels (+4mm) and the dobinsons 2” lift. Do I need any body mount trim? Or should plastic modifications be okay?
