So I got a welder today

Lincoln K587-1 100A 115V MIG Welder. Pro Core 100 100 Amp Wire Feed Welder. 115V/1PH/60Hz.


It's new in the box and also has full flip down face shield. It does not have the gas system but, looks like it can be converted. Now I need to learn how to weld.

$180 cash I don't think I did that bad....


Any hints beside practice, practice, practice... The wife already advised me not to blow up the house, oh and be careful.

Get the gas if it will take it. Much neater, way nicer, and easier to do.

When I got my welder, I read the manaul, bought a book and read it, then started welding beads with flux core... welded for a day, then got the gas going, welded for a day, then just went to town on whatever project was on my plate..

The grinder is your friend, cut a couple of your welds to check for penetration, grind away any bad welds and redo, bevel the edges and hit it with a BFH : )

this one has a manual and a video. and yes gas is available. I'm not sure why I waited so long. so many times I could have made my life easier.......

now I have to start watching the flea markets for old bed frames and scrap metal....
