So how good are the newer style Rav4's?

I was thinking of getting one of these for the gas mileage.

Any thoughts?

How new? Bottom line is all Toyotas are pretty much excellent vehicles. The newest Rav4 with a 6 cyl is close to 270 hp! Seemed almost too much. But it was nice - and great build quality. Much better than everything else in its class.

We have one of the Lexus versions. It is nice and comfortable. I don't know the differences in underpinnings between the RAV4 but I would assume the Lexus is heavier, it is still agile enough. It's no MDX but decent all the same.

The brand new ones with the 270 horse V-6 move out really well, seem nice, and overall Toyota quality ....... but I really felt like the interior left a lot to be desired, not in fit, but in the finish, it's not like they are exactly inexpensive and the interior feels like an entry level Hyundai or something.

There is no Lexus version of the RAV4. You probably mean the Lexus RX350 which is the Lexus version of the Toyota Highlander.

I have a friend who has the RAV4 V6 AWD Limited. It is very nice in and out, and he really enjoys it. He used to have a tuned WRX, so he is used to the sporty end of things and is impressed with the power of this small SUV.

Bahh, corrected, sorry. Highlander it is.
