I think ill cook me a big breakfast and do some snow :steer:. Who is all getting out and driving around on these perfect road conditions?

i want to but i have not yet gotten a front drive shaft made for my 60 :(

i don't think my km2's will do well in the snow with only 2wd

i went out this morning around town. Had to go to 4wd to come back home. I don't remember us ever getting this much snow. My altenator just died on the cruiser so i am not going anywhere.

Just drove into Cola for work. My Harbison State PArk rd. looked the BRP this morning. Only a few cars traveling, about 3+ inches on the roads, maybe 6"'s on the hood of the truck.

Easy drive, 4wd, under 35mph into town. Nothing big, no wrecks, no one I could pull out of a ditch.

Be safe.

yeah i'm probably going to stay in today. It would be a disgrace to cruisers everywhere to have to get my 60 pulled out of a ditch by a jeep or worse yet an H2

I drove around for a bit when I had to run some errands. We have 6" on the roads in places but its getting compacted pretty fast. One 18 wheeler was stuck but I knew that was over my head. Backed one guy off of a curb. Dang Saturn didn't have any tow points.

There are some crazy pedestrians out. I guess when it snows you are safe stepping out into the road with a camera and without looking. I saw a couple people downtown Greenville almost get hit. Oh, and snow also means you can park anywhere in a parking lot you want and an H3 is unstoppable and doesn't have to obey basic traffic laws.

Anyone riding around simpsonville

I was in between Carolina Springs golf course and up scuffletown rd to five forks. We went sledding on the golf course this morning with the kids. They had a good 6 inches there. Also stopped by my office in greer. Seems like a good 5 to 6 inch snow all over the upstate!!

What tire are you running on the FJ and how do you like them in the snow? I have some km1's and they do good but are almost worn out and will need to be replaced soon.

Just to stay on topic I drove around where I live shuttling sledders back up the mountain road we were sledding down. Lots of fun.

I drove from my place near 5 forks to my sisters place off 101. Wanted to go out longer but with no 4wd I did not drive around much

New KM2s. Drove them last week to FL and back and did great on pavement. Have had them in 6+ inches of snow several times over the past two months and they did well. They suck on ice but unless you have studs you are out of luck. Some sipe the inner tread blocks. I've thought about doing that.

I just went into Simpsonville, and it's a lovely skating rink. Fun, if it were secluded, but no good as is. Plus, there was an ambulance in the ditch. Was going to help recover, but would have needed to shut down Main Street to do so. Returned home, no problem, left the crazy's to themselves.

Just drove around a bit. Saw about 6 or so cars in the ditch but all had been abandoned. Came across 3 semi's 'stuck' on pavement but I knew I couldn't help them. Then came across a SCDOT plow truck in the ditch. I could have got him out but it would have taken a bunch of digging and he had real help on the way. Then I drove across Paris Mtn on Altamont Rd which was fun. Will post pics later.

Thanks for the info. How loud are they on pavement? I am driving out to NM this summer and am thinking of taking the FJ with a small travel trailer. Want something that is good on and off road but not supper loud on the interstate.

Dave

Again to stay on topic. Not to many cars in the ditch up here. Most are just staying home. Did see a 18 wheeler in ditch with the trailer leaning against the mountain. Was gonna take something big to get him moving again.

Not bad at all.

Went back out last night when a friend called. She was stuck in her driveway and needed to get to work. Winched her back to a good spot and drove her to work. Saw a few addtl vehicles in the ditch. One was a Cherokee that I wish I took a pic of. Was pointed nose down about 70 degrees and resting against a tree. They were lucky they didn't roll and they are going to have a time getting it out.

To 90FJ62. If you are going to do that much traveling on-road then go with the Goodyear Duratrax. The KM2's are to loud and you will feel the wide tread pattern (at least in my opinion). My friend has the goodyears and for a dual purpose tire you cant get much better. Good luck and have fun on your trip.

I have 31x10.5's km2's on my 60, they are not very loud at all, can't hear them over the vehicle. I can hear them a bit with the windows down. I have heard they roar more when you get wear on them, I will tell you more in 20k. They suck in sand and don't like rocks when it's cold. On a quieter rig like a 100 they might be noticeably louder although I had 245/75-15' km2s on my 96 grang Cherokee and they were also pretty quiet. Only put a thousand or so miles on them before I sold it at Xmas. Might have gotten noticeably louder with wear.

They look nice, wear slowly and do well in the mud. I like them a lot even towing a boat at 70mph. My 60 is a dd

My KM2s are on my FJC and they are a little louder than my Nitto ATs but they are not loud at all. They are much quieter than my MTRs on my Pig. I'd much rather have a tire that 'might' be a little louder on road but performs better off road when its really needed.
