I've read many threads here about all the different snorkels and they all seem good enough. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good one that would go on a 40 passenger side? I accept the possibilty of having to modify the air cleaner housing. Pics would be great, too. Thanks.

O yeah, here's a picture under the hood to show the location of the air cleaner...

Sounds rugged and price effective! Thanks Wayne

on a 40 series it really looks good. if you go to your local wrecker you can get the 3" flex to go through the fender skirt and to the box from a Ford Topaz...
cheers

is the 3" flex made of metal/plastic/rubber? Any idea what year Ford Topaz to seek?
Thanks again Wayne.

hummm, okay it is rubber and i think the mid 90s, just take a stroll and look at the intake hoses...

Thank you Wayne, I think I'll play hookey from work and go out there today.

Got a bunch of nice rubber flex tubes from the salvage yard yesterday for $10. Most were from mid 90's ford/mercury and a couple from *eep cherokees. Now to get the pipe and air ram. As far as support for the pipe outside, doe it only get bolted to the windscreen frame or somehow attached where it goes through the fender apron?

Thanks, J

Wow! Looks good. Are those SS pipes?
Thanks

Donaldson filters in some countries sell all the pieces you need to fab your own including tube, elbows and the prefilter.
The prefilters are similar to Safari and Airtec
They have sizes from 45mm to 200mm?

I think the US branches sell them but the Aussie site has the best pics:D

temporary

here's the temporary intake I made with the salvage yard hoses and a short 2.5" pipe painted with POR-15...I know it isn't beautiful, but it's better than the "non-existant" version and is just until I have time off to make the snorkel.
I wish there was more space under there.

Those Top Spin prefilters look cool. No more dumping the bowl :grinpimp:

I am going to see how much they cost

Ordered a topspin prefilter from the local freightliner shop. quoted me $59.54...
we'll see if that's accurate when I go pick it up in a week or two.

Are you putting it on top of a safari or a DIY snorkel?
