I need some pictures of a weber to snorkel install. I have had a 38 weber for several year and have recently added a snorkel. I have the weber plenum adapter but when you install that on the carb there is no place for a air filter. I am looking at adapting a 62 air box but would also like some other ideas of a in line air intake that might work. I like the idea of some of the cold air intakes but after the $400 plus spent on the snorkel and weber plenum I dont want to do another 200 - 300 on a cold air intake. The has to be a air intake off an existing car or truck that has a round opening on both ends that I can install on this application like the VOLANT system.

Here is Razor's website: http://www.wired2.com/FJ60/ you can scroll down the side bar and see more detailed and bigger pictures there. But other than these methods your options are going to have to be pretty custom. The Weber Plenium I believe relies on the 62 style airbox posted above. Good Luck with this!

That is the aussie version and If I could find a decent price on one I would do It. I can also get a 62 set up used for $ 50 and remove the mass air flow unit and modify the intake for a hose. I have also seen several truck like I believe the tundra who's intake might work but I need to look at one in person. If so I hope so find that in a salvage yard for $30 to 40$. The aussie version of the 60 so far has been several hundred an a modern cold air intake is porbaly better if I am going to spend that kind of money.

I've got no clue as to its origin, best answer would be to PM Razor and ask him directly. Sounds like you've done some research on this topic, sorry for the obvious links, didn't realize you already new about that.

I would rather have that than someone who knows what I need but assumes I already know. Thank you for your help. What a nice looking 60 he has. Would love to see it in person someday.

Yeah that one is great looking, he got a steal on another great looking 60 that's tan. Yeah I can't wait until I get my 60 done and can start meeting all these people at cruiser events and such. Later

A little off topic but sorry... is Razor's that 60 that was built for that ARB run some time back and for sale in TT?

I called the guy in TT and ask where it was and he told me he sold it to a man in colorado and that person put it on E-bay where it went to I believe detriot but if not then somewhere back east where he said it would rust away.

Bummer.. that thing was a nice 60 as well.

Good luck on the project.. pics when start and when you finsih! I would really interested in the cold air intake if you go that route!

Just PM Razor and that is the truck from ARB.

I looked into Safari for my vortec set up. ARB sent me the pictures and instructions for the FJ62 set up. It looks like a very easy job to the stock FJ62 ait cleaner.

I need get pics out for you, my damn digi is dead  As soon as I clear that up, I will post.

Here are pics

Hey Stinky what plenum did you use there?

The plenum is the Weber one, I think that TPI carries it. The piece that hooks from the rubber hose of the plenum to the four bolts on top of the FJ62 air cleaner was custom made for me. It replaces the mass air flow from the 62. The FJ60 has the bolts holes for the FJ62 style air cleaner because that is the non-US style.

This is not a very expensive option. The Plenum is the most expensive part I have there, but it came with the Weber when I bought it used. I paid like $30 for the FJ62 canister. The metal shop did not charge me much for that adapter piece. The orginal gasket from the mass airflow is still used, I just had to grind off the little mounting nipple on the aircleaner to get the adapter to fit flush. I used the hose off of the FJ60s air cleaner (the one that pulls air in from the behind the right headlight) to attach to the front of the FJ62 aircleaner to pull air from inside the fender behind the battery just like the FJ62 or non-USA 60. Because HJ, BJ, FJs use the same style airclear as the USA FJ62, the aftermarket snorkles are made to attach there.

Thanks for the pic's
