Between my guns, gear and my cruiser, I'm broke. I'd love to jump on this but there isn't any room in my budget either.

Gotta get my AR finished. Can't let Loud have a cooler rifle than me. :p

 I need my old plates back.

very tempted to buy one as the sale is still active (I know a 180 from my first post), but want to know for sure what style it is.

You snozed so now you loosed! I would've cut the hole for ya, I even have the hole saw needed.

i think this is what it will look like. Yes?

Yep, that's what it will look like. I received e-mail confirmation on the style yesterday.
I think i'm going to hold out for the Safari both for looks and for the better airflow, I've read about.

LT said that you can still use the OEM antenna without modifications.

Anyone know what the definite answer is?

Not correct! I had to remove mine

What did you do to replace the antenna then? I really don't like the look of the longer arm with the current style safari snorkel's. Anyone know a source for a replacement manual antenna?

Also, does every 100 series have that "air entry duct" as pictured in the picture on step 4 of these install instructions?

I dont like the longer arm either. I've seen them get busted on the trooper runs I used make.

I have not found an antenna fix. I need to fire off an email to ironman asking for ideas. Really makes me angry that they didn't do due diligence on this one.

My 100 had the duct work

I was told the plastics in the ARB are superior, ie: more resilient, uv resistant and overall more durable. The arb is going on mine this weekend.

That snorkel should be nearly identical to the first generation Safari snorkel for the 100's. I know others have found a work around for the antenna or at least replacement antennas that work with this snorkel type. I'm sure a little searching and you'll find options.

Actually remembered Shotts posting his solution so I'll post this in case it can help you:
Safari Snorkel and Antenna Modification - John Shotts (shottscruisers)'s Photos

For the record I also don't like the new Safari design as much but have also heard advantages to the new design with increased air flow etc. I don't know about superior plastics being used though. I've seen and purchased a few Ironman products and have been very happy with them. Everything I've seen appears to be high quality. I also have ARB OME items on my rig and they also produce great products.

Per the guy who designed them, the new longer Safari offers increased air flow and forces removal of restrictive intake bottlenecks (that a lot of people in Oz do anyway) compared to the old one. On their test vehicle with the 1HD-FTE the new snorkel gave increases of 10.73hp over stock (no snorkel). Not sure how much the old snorkel gave.

The Safari plastic vs. competitor plastic has been discussed many times on lcool. It's even led to the website that I'm sure many of you have seen, Don't Get Burnt - Low Quality Snorkel Copies. However, many people seem to have had good luck with Chinese snorkels too, so YMMV.
