No clue. I would put it on the drivers side, because that's were the carb is normally. I think diesel is much better for fording operations. In Germany I once drove my duece and half threw a trap made by a tank spinning in the trail until it was stuck and had to be pulled out by another tank. I had soupy mud flowing through cab with the doors open as I waded threw.
Some years back a hummer tried to drive threw the local creek down by the boat dock. Yea well he fell into a hole and was up to the windows in water. He was pulled off the hood by the boat rescue people. I took picture but I haven't found them lately.
