Quicken 2005 tells me the Revenue Dept. owes me $1000 this year :bounce: ...where and how much for a value-priced snorkel?...an accessory I truly covet!

Dave...those are funny. :D I know they didn't spend much on those PVC sewer pipe snorkels...but it also looks exactly like that too. There's a fine line between saving a few hundred bucks and bolting on a well thought out product that looks clean and is very functional.

Moose...the Safari snorkels like mine costs generally between $400-500 CAD. There's also other brands available (like Airtec), but I like the Safari best. 4wheelauto sells them in Calgary, but any ARB dealer can get them. Sport Trucks Unlimited and NSOR are ARB dealers...there must be some Cruiser specific retailer that can also get them here locally.

But I agree...spend the $$$ on suspension first. It's a more usefull upgrade IMHO. Cheers.

Moose, go with the lift, a snorkel is nice but a lift is more pracitable...
in my opinion

Yeah go the lift. You use your suspension all the time and a snorkel 1-2 times a year if your lucky.

There is nothing like putting 33s and a lift on in the same day, then getting out of bed the next day and being confronted by this big lifted beast in the driveway:D

Actually, you use the snorkel every day, as it provides outside air, as opposed to engine bay air, for your engine. As I understand, the main benefit of a snorkel is this feature. The factory 70 series snorkel kit is not a one piece water proof unit like the aftermarket ones. If you do a lot of dusty trail running in the summer, convoy fashion, you air filter will like you better if the snorkel is installed. A fellow here swears his fuel economy and pep increased on his turbo'd 1HZ 75 series, when he turfed the engine bay air pickup system and put on a snorkel.

All that said, I agree with rosco, crushers and stone: Get the suspension first.

plus there is not many places on the island where you would use a snorkle. At least not on the south island! Everything runs downhill too fast too puddle! :)

what if he want to travel to the mainland? ;)

I say go for it moose. What the heck.. they look cool and $275 isn't much of a dent in a suspension :)

To be honest with you guys...I'm never going to take her into water deeper than the axles...I just love the way the snorkel looks...OK...I'm a poser.
