I recently installed a Fabulous Fabrication snorkel on my 200 and drove it around in the rain today. I had installed a check valve in the air box to deal with rain getting in the snorkel. I’ve read some threads with some people saying to plug the existing drain hole. You do not want to do that. A temp plug for when u r actually attempting a water crossing would be ok (probably good idea) but you don’t want the drain hole permanently plugged. Here’s why:
Heck valve worked:
In the air box. You can see some water has been getting in:
Airbox inlet at elbow:
This isn’t enough water to hurt anything but you need to have a drain. My check valve works but I will need to keep at eye on it to make sure it doesn’t get plugged.
