My awesome boss gave me the blessing to play hookie tomorrow. I'm headed to SFNF West side tomorrow for a day of burning cheap fuel.

Tuesday was perfect. Not too cold, not too windy. Snow had great structure.
Super great day in the hills.

Just me and a breakfast burrito. Saw no one all day until the last 100 yrds to the pavement. Saw elkies, lots of birdlife, and a giant squirrel that at first I swore was a skunk.

No offense to the hunters in the group (I like hiking around in the snow too), but the wheeling looks like more fun to me.

near Datil. didn't get one in spite of seeing 26 elk. 5 at 30 yards, but spooked em. saw tracks in the snow for deer, elk, rabbit, fox, bear, mtn lion and field mice. I like both types of fun in the snow too.
