snatch block size for 8000lb winch (1 Viewer)

I was just wondering how many pound snatch block should i get. I have a xrc8 on my fj80, will a 16,000 lb snatch block be enough? I was thinking about the smittybilt 16,000lb snatch block.
What do you all use and recommend?

I've got 2 of these, I use a Warn 8074 on my FJ40 and a Warn 9500 on my HJ60. Looks to be rated for 20,000 lbs.

I edited this cause I didn't know what an xrc8 was. Smittybilt makes a nice snatch block that would work perfectly with
your winch. It's rated at 18,000 lbs. It's what I'd recommend, gives you fall back with manufacturer if you have warranty
issues while in use.

Just a thought, looking at the title to your thread and looking at what rig your 8K winch is on. If you're considering the future, you might want to calculate your snatch block for a 12K winch. I started with an 8K on my 80 and replaced it with a 12K. It is the size you'll want for the 80. My 8K went on my '81 Mini and it's just the right size for it considering the weight. While my 80 was winchless I discovered Harbor Freight's Badland winches. Got my 12K with a 2 yr warranty for $350. I noticed the difference in pulling power immediately and would not go back to a 8K on it now unless it was absolutely necessary. Yeah, an 8K will work for most pulls (with a snatch block), but you'll be much happier with a 12K.
