I have a 2000 LC 100 with a 1hdt 12 valve engine. Manual. I have modded my truck and engine. I have front and rear bumpers (My bumpers are custom made and heavy steal), side rails, roof rack, winch and sliders. It's on 285/75/16 coppers. I've put in a modded turbo from Australia (graeme Gturbo) 3 inch pipe, modded aileron, intercooler, catch can and snorkel.

My fuel pin (adjuster?) is at 8 o'clock position or 3.7 turn. and 5.70 clicks from the aneroid spring/gear. full boost a little less than 18 psi. my last dyne said 105 HP (other dynes around 160) and torque 500+ to the wheel. I blow smoke.

Best fuel consumption is city driving a 5.4 per liter and 5 per liter 120-130 kph at 3k+ rpm). My rig runs fine but I'm wondering if I can make it better.

any thoughts. Rebuilt my engine and everything is good etc.

Have you got a Pyrometer (exhaust temperature Gauge) and a boost pressure gauge? If you haven't, I'd recommend you get these first and install them in the optimal locations (the Pyrometer probe should be installed in the exhaust manifold, before the exhaust flows through the turbo, and the boost pressure gauge should be installed after the intercooler to give the most accurate information.

This will allow those who have more idea than me about this sort of thing like @gbentink @Dougal @ForealBoreal @gerg @yotahed and so-on to give specific advice on what could be done to improve your cruiser. I do wonder, though, if you should be making more than 105 horsepower on 18 psi intercooled with a proper tune.

The general consensus is that a correctly tuned diesel should run visibly clean on-boost, with a puff of black off-boost viewed as acceptable.

My 1HD-T is standard, cruiser has a steel bullbar and 285/75/16 General Grabber A/T tyres. I can't tell you the exact fuel consumption figures, but from rough calculations it's around 12-13 litres per 100 km which is about 7-8 litres per kilometre.

Sorry failed to mention. Yes i have a boost gauge and egt gauge. Normal readings.

Well according to the other shop my hp was 150+ but the torque sensor of the dyno was broken. So i redynoed it in a different shop who said it was only at 105hp while my torque was 500+.

I got my turbo from gbentink. What an awesome turbo.

I live in the philippines so stop and go traffic is everywhere. My friends lc100 same engine but stock with arb bumper and 285/75r16 AT's gets a good 100+ kilometers more than i do. Having said that mine is stronger. Our engines are both smokey.
