Smog pump juet started squealing & it is REALLY loud. Sounds like it might be about to go. Cruiser Parts LLS has a great price, & I can pay extra to get it here faster. The question is: If that pump seizes up, can I still run the vehicle? If I can, I will save sone $ on the shipping & get it a bit later. Thanks in advance.

It might be a destructive to seize-up. Something has got to give, and that belt is spinning.

My '75 2F had no power steering, or AC, so the smog belt is easy to not run, the water pump used two pulleys and it will work on just one. Just the alternator-crank-water pump. The SOR illustration / data suggests that it likely depends on the engine - belt configuration, could you just run the part number for an early belt, or are there other accessories?

depends whether or not you have power steering,
if you have PS, is the pump leaking? this is bad for the smog pump and will destroy it. it also needs to be fixed before replacing the smog pump. the smog pump belt is the only 1 that runs the waterpump, so very bad if it isn't there
if you don't have stock PS, the belt can be removed as the alternator belt also runs the waterpump and you will be fine

smog pump and PS pump are 1979 and 1980 only, the smog pump is smaller than the later version and the later version will not fit if you have stock PS
I do not know if the later larger smog pump can be made to fit if you don't have stock PS

Your profile info doesn't say where you are located, but if you're not in a smog-nazi state then now would be a good time to de-smog completely.
