You'll get plenty of thoughts on this one. What's the weight of your 76 series? Not the GVWR but with it on a scale fully loaded for wheeling? I personally like Warn. One major advantage to the Warn is that years later they'll still be making parts for the winch you have.

I can tell you this: We've built our reputation and our company around vehicle recovery. We design, engineer, research, and test all of our products in house, right here in Oregon. The 9.5xp also comes out of our Clackamas, Oregon facility. We offer top-notch customer service if you should ever need it, and it's backed by a global service organization. Yes, we're more expensive. However, we are offering a free recovery kit if you purchase before July 31, 2016 to sweeten the deal.

If you've got any questions about our 9.5xp, you can feel free to PM me at any time, or you can call our Customer Service team at 800-543-9276.

I can attest to the customer service and product reliability provided by Warn. Yes it is more expensive than just about any other company, but that price tag comes with peace-of-mind. The main reason they cost so much (at least this is what I think) is because a lot of their winches are manufactured and assembled in America. Each and every part is crafted to perfection, and they back all of their products with a great warranty if anything were to go wrong (which rarely happens with Warn). These winches are not Chinese crap that go bad after a year or two. These are winches that you will pass down to your kids and maybe even grandkids. Go with Warn and don't look back, you won't regret it.

Warn all the way. Their tech help is top notch. They NEVER rush you on the phone, they are there to help solve your issue.

If budget is not a problem, go with Warn winch with synthetic line. Very tough and dependable. If you will only use your winch occasionally and want to save some cash for other mods, Smitty is a good winch for you.

Better? The 9.5 XP. It's one of Warn's best winches. It's a solidly great winch you will be still using 15 years from now.

Smittybuilt is just the usual 2 year Chinese wonder. But it's cheap and junk. Built to die inconveniently. Better than nothing though, so you have to decide what you value.
