I'm looking at this tent. Anyone done this on a 100 with either stock or aftermarket rack?
I did a search on smittybilt tent in the 100 forum and didn't come up with any results.
It says it's for the JK Jeep but I can't imagine that it wouldn't fit another roof rack.
Thanks in advance.
Prices are always attractive on S(h)mittbilt products. I tend to avoid their offerings. Sure, it'll get the job done....but for not much more $$ you can get much higher quality parts from other vendors.
I'm a "do it right the first time" buyer and I buy smittybilt. The way those products are often made is the factories in China which make the ARB or other high end products they do not patent regulations so they often make the same exact product, on the same line, and sell them to other vendors.
I have a smittybilt compressor and awning and both are very good quality with excellent reviews.
I have researched their RTT and it has good reviews too.
With that said, I will likely buy a CVT in the future because having the name associated with the product makes resale easier.
Thanks for the input. I think I will take a chance on the Smittybilt to go on my Gamiviti rack for the 6 or 7 times I might camp in one summer in the short Colorado summers.
I'll post some pics in a few weeks when the rack is built and everything is installed.

I have also been looking at the Smittybuilt RTT - we normally camp in a little travel trailer, but have plans for some more 'overland' trips in the future. I need a tent for 4 and am not looking to spend $3k - this seems like a good bet. All the reviews have been pretty solid. I have a coworker with a diesel WK who has had the 4 person on his Jeep for a couple summers and he is very pleased.
I have 3 friends with Smittybuilt tents, 3 with Tepui, 3 Treeline, 1 ARB and 1 Ironman.
They are pretty much all the same, small differences but overall the same tents made in the same factories in China.
The only thing I dislike about the Smitty is the cover and the ladder. The cover inflates like a hot air balloon while you are driving and the ladder is not telescopic.
I have owned my Tepui since 2011 without any issues. This year after many thousands of kilometers I have to buy new track rails and a new cover but I guess is ok after over 100000 km of travels.
I ran my tent on the Factory LX rack for over 10.000 km with no issues.
If I had to choose all over again I would go ARB just because their customer service, Tepui is not the greatest.
The Treeline tents are the nicest ones because all the features (led lights, solar panels, etc) but also $$$$, almost hard shell tent money (also overpriced in my opinion).
