That says the "information will be available on the display." o_O I'd be a lot more excited if it said "can be controlled via the display." But it does look like it works in the video.

Given the overall sketchiness of aliexpress, I'm not going to post a link to a specific vendor. They are listed under multiple brands, but the sellers are getting them from the same source. If you search for the key features of this head unit you will find several buying options, prices vary depending on which version of Android it's running. Maybe the older ones can be updated, not sure. It looks ok overall, but I'm not getting one until the display resolution improves.

I don't know- I spent a few minutes browsing through all "Prado 120" stereos and none of those (even the most expensive) claim to have climate control compatibility.

Interesting... I am *brand new* here, and looking to buy a GX 470. I have been hung up looking for a "non-NAV" vehicle, but this may change the pool of available cars.

FWIW - I found an article about a integrating into a different model of Lexus - and they expanded a bit on what they mean by "information will be available on the display". It's in russian, so you gotta hit translate.

Climate control . Native reciever on Android 4.4 KitKat SMARTY Trend supports the display of information on climate control, such as: adjusting the direction of airflow, temperature, and blowing speed, etc. On the device screen. **
I am not sure how you get a 9" unit into the dash tho. There don't seem to be any adapters.

Looking at that video further, I don't think that integration was plug and play. I suspect there is an arduino layer behind the unit that's linking it into the climate controls. I downloaded the manual and all the screens for the unit, and there is nothing like what is shown in the video. I am guessing that the user made the video to show off his custom integration.

That sucks. I sent them an e-mail asking to clarify about climate controls about a week back and never heard back from them.

There is this screen shot, which gives some hope - shows there is an "air control" customization. And elsewhere, it looks like you can load a profile custom to a car model. But you would be making a $600 bet that you could figure it out...

I can really go down the rabbit hole on this kind of stuff. Need to watch it!

I'll buy in when I see someone in the states pull it off and be open to question/answer on the forums or FB.
