Sliders for the Overtrail (any 300 w/ AHC) (2 Viewers)

The only existing sliders are Dissent and CBI as far as I'm aware, and both are "body mount". Neither is yet for sale to the general public, though, Dissent has stated their sliders will be the next item to become available (roof rack available to order now).

What are the thoughts regarding body mount sliders?

Light duty use in my opinion. I sure as heck wouldn't want to drop the entire trucks weight down on one. I'm speculating, but it could lead to damage to the body mounts on the body itself. The mounts typically under compression would then be subject to tension when the weight of the frame and drivetrain pulls down.

I'm waiting for @sleeoffroad . I keep pestering them about it and they are supposed to be working on the revision now or soon.

Body mounted? Great for the mall, Starbucks and school run. That's the one Achilles hill of the OT. Couldn't Lexus solve that, like they did with the GX550? I know about the AHC lines and all but, come on, they are the OEM.

Love the look of dissent's roof rack, but a prinsu I had on my wife's old GX460 had nothing but squeaks with roof top tent in place, and it need retorquing periodically.

I plan to do some simple Thule or Yakima cross bars, which is what I've got on the current 2023 GX460, which handle an iKamper perfectly...with no noise except a little wind noise.

I’ve put quite a bit of weight on my factory steps so far and have been impressed how they’ve held up.

I will be more impressed to see the first person truly mangle them.
