As I have been looking at sliders for my 200 I noticed that the length of the slider is not mentioned.

The stock running boards on the 200 are 71" long. Can someone tell me how long the boards are/were on the 100 series? That way I can find out if all I need to modify (maybe) would be the mounting vs getting a whole new set fabricated.

Thanks
DTT

Jeez...I haven't even seen a 200 on the street yet (in San Diego) and you're already chasing off-road parts. You definitely will have the "first on my block" designation.

Even if the 100 sliders are the correct length, I seriously doubt you can just bolt them on and be good to go. Look at it this way, the LC 100 sliders won't fit the LX470 due to the location of the AHC components underneath the frame rail. If you want sliders this early, you'll likely have to have custom ones fabbed.

IIRC, TLC built a set of custom sliders when one of the 4-Wheel mags did a write up on the 200.

You could check with them.

And, I believe the driver of the truck is a member here, but I can't seem to recall who.

Dtt - the February 2008 issue of Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road (in which the LC was named 4x4 of the year) says:

"The Land Cruiser we tested came with decent underbelly skid plates and awesome steel tubular rock sliders (we were told these would be optional), a powerful 5.7L V-8..." (page 70)

The truck in the picture is wearing them.

You might try to talk to Toyota or the magazine and see what that's all about. If you get to the bottom of it, let us know.

Side note - thanks for all the posts and pictures of your truck in the early days. I'm sure at some level it influenced my decision to buy one, and I'm pleased every time I drive it.

"Off Road Evolution" built sliders for the SEMA Land Cruiser. They were nice and tucked. Not sure if they were custom 1 time only, or if they are going to manufacture for retail? Might want to check with them.

To be honest, my summer project is to build a set. Any ideas and thoughts would be helpfull.
