Thanks Jon. I think i'm going to build the rear bumper next. I was thinking about the front, but I gave my M8000 winch to my dad since it would work great on his jeep, and he had an empty winch bumper waiting for one already. I'll just have to buy a new XD9000 in the future....

Since the lift (which should go on tomorrow :grinpimp:) is going to raise the rear a little bit, I figured that would be a good excuse to build the rear bumper next. Not to mention getting that darn spare tire up out of the way. I'm going to wait a little while though, so I can save up for the materials i'll need. I spent about $280 on the sliders.

If you ever need an adoption give me a call.:grinpimp:

280$ !!!!

well, that's a lot less than what I paid for my metaltech ones :p I am sure if you counted the time/labor involved the price would probably even out, or might surpass it. I know that you spent a lot of time planning and building this and it shows.

I look forward to seeing your bumper build. If you need to take some pictures or measurements of mine, let me know.

Jon

Its a lot of money, but I didn't cut on the materials. The 1/4" plate, 2x4 .188 wall tubing, and the 1.5" tubing is DOM, so that all adds up. I think they would sell for over a grand if you bought them from a shop.

Hahaha :grinpimp:

He sold his first jeep many years ago, and that was the winch he had before. He gave it to me when i was 17 and Ive had it ever since.
Sooooo... you were actually returning it to him after borrowing it for a number of years?

That sound more like the father son relationship I'm use to.

Good job on the sliders. They look great. I really like your cat protection. I would say use some POR15 on them but I guess you don't have to deal with much rust where you are. I rattle canned mine and the paint started flaking immediately from getting sandblasted by the front tire.
