Hey guys,
Need a little help with some electrical hook-ups. Anyone with a Slee rear care to share info or pics on how they ran the wires/hooked up the electrical?

I'm golden with mechanics but when it comes to electricity its a no go.

I need to wire the hella license plate light, and a Rigid 2X2 dually.

I have searched with no luck on the topic.

So far I have the wires in wire loom, running on the back side on the swing arm, where is everybody using as a entry point into the 100 to splice into the brake lights etc... ?

Thanks in advance

X2. I was told just to tap into this that and the other. I would love it if someone could identify exactly what wires to tap into along with locations and pics of said area if possible. My current work around is running the license plate light directly to the towing harness.

I need to do this as well. Would like to tie into the factory license plate light circuit. I'm sure we could make a harness that plugs into factory wiring fairly easily.

Theres a trailer hitch hookup right next to the exhaust resonator can. Heres a picture of the two wires (or for the ground you could tap a screw into the cross member). Splice the positive brown wire from the light with the slee kit into the positive.

I didnt take pictures, but I ran it along the tire carrier inside one of those wire covers using zip ties to make it good. when it went between the tail gate, I split the cable for the antenna and went intside and the wires for the lights and went underside.

I then ran the underside wire over to two connectors that end up going to the trailer connector. I spliced into the two wires that activate when the lights turn on

Edit : what DallasCrzr showed

That wiring goes through the top of the tailgate, I would have preferred to do this but the trouble of running a wire and making it water tight I don't think would be worth it.

When i ran the wiring for the 7 pin brake controller wiring i notched out the grommet that the wires pass through to access my hitch. Easy access on driver side quarter panel. I have pics somewhere of my brake controller install.

Thanks so much for the picture, I will look for that connector in the AM.

May be a dumb question but i assume that rear trailer connector is protected by a fuse somewhere?

If this works all I will have left is the dumb rigid light. God I hate wiring...

There is nothing wrong with that. Tap into the towing harness is probably the easiest if available. Just locate the taillight circuit with a tester and then tap into that. Other wire goes to ground.

What i meant is that I tapped into my aftermarket towing harness that sits inside the storage compartment used for the bottle jack. I ran my wiring directly into the harness plug. This meant that I had a wire run under the tailgate hinge, across the rear cargo area (in full sight) and then just connected to the harness plug. Not only was it unsightly, it rendered the towing harness adapter useless for it's intended purpose.

Now that I now where the factory connector is, I should be able to run the connection the right way. Thanks for the help!

I would assume that the connector is fused in one of the fuse boxes but honestly I have no idea.

I also don't know if you have that same connector, I guess mine is a six pin? I know some come with 4pin and some with 7pin? I really don't know anything about trailer wiring

I've only seen the 4-pin style which gives you tail light and left and right turn signals. Fourth contact is ground. If you're wiring a 6-pin or 7-pin socket, use relays triggered by your trailer controller. More than a few posts here already. Search a little and you'll find what you need.
