Well I went and did the install and at the end tested the lights. Everything is working however, when switching the light on for just the low beams the high beams turns on. Then when I turn the high beams on then that will activate the low beams. I followed the instructions as per slee's site but yet still can't figure out the problem. Has anyone out there that did the same install have same problem? Any ideas of what could have been done wrong? Help is much needed. Thanks

Call Slee--I had a similar problem and there was a quick fix.

rgsiii,
I did try to call Slee but its sat night and they are closed. I was just hoping someone on here had same problem and had the solution. Thanks though for your reply. I will hopefully get an answer to this issue or will just wait till monday and call christo directly. Thanks again.

I can't remember what was done to correct the issue. It apparently is a problem with a few of the harnesses and Monday will come quickly. You might try sending a PM to Christo (sleeoffroad). He is always very helpful and knowldgeable about his cruisers.

sounds like you have the connections at the head light harness backwards. That's where the trucks harness plugs into Slee's. I can't remember if those were keyed so that can't happen or if it's up to the installer to pick the correct ones. Might be worth a check.

Thanks Rgsiii and Landtank for your input. I just got a pm from Christo and as usual he is on top of his products! I just had to swap the wires on the male plugs on slee's harness that usually plugs into the factory 9005/9006 plugs. The install was simple other than this one issue.

I thought of doing that mod. Do you notice any difference with regular stock lamps? I did the auxillary light mod and think it's great. What's the advantage of doing the regular headlight harness replacemement? Brighter lights? Able to run higher watt lamps? Also is the juice to your lights now directly coming from the battery so if you foreget to turn your lights off they'll now stay on?

edpa,
The reason that I did the harness upgrade is so that I could install the HIR bulbs. I have not gotten them in yet but I can let you know the difference when I put them in. There are several threads that go into details about the harness upgrade and the different bulbs used. I have not been able to see the difference yet in the stock form just cause its still daylight out here in so. cali. I will be out tonite to see. But overall the install is simple and I would recommend especially if you are going to add fog lights or driving lights.

Just so you know, HIR bulbs do not require the slee harness. You may get some benefit by doing both due to less voltage loss through the wiring, but it's not required. HIR bulbs are the same wattage as stock, and therefore do not draw more amps like the higher watt bulbs that can melt stock harnesses...

I just put in both the harness and the HIR's this weekend and the difference was noticeable  even in daylight. I know for most this was a simple install but wasn't for me due to a large turbo intercooler hanging in front of the rad. Still very happy with the results  Christo.
