HEY EVERYONE

IM HAVING A ISSUE WITH MY OIL DASH LIGHT.

IT USUALLY COMES ON WHEN MY KEY IS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION WITH ENGINE OFF AND USUALLY TURNS OFF WITH ENGINE STARTED. BUT NOW ITS NOT TURNING ON AT ALL.

ALL OTHER DASH LIGHTS WORKING. IVE TAKEN THE LIGHT BULB OUT OF IT AND REPLACED IT.

IF IT WAS A FAULTY OIL SENSOR WOULDNT THE LIGHT STAY ON AND NOT BE OFF CONSTANTLY.

CHEERS ALL.

1993 STANDARD MODEL 1HZZZZ HZJ80R

Have you checked the connection to ensure it is still intact? IIRC if you disconnect it doesn't cause a light on the dash.

Factory Service Manual (FSM) - Check the resources section above and see if there is one for your model. Not sure how much different the non-US version is with the option you got compared to us.

I think the problem is a stuck caps lock key. ;)

There are two oil sensors on the 1HZ engine, and either one or two two oil warning lights depending on model. I assume the one you've got doesn't have the tacho and oil pressure gauge? In that case you've got two lights, one red, indicating low oil pressure, and one amber, indicating low oil level. From your description, it's the red low pressure one giving you trouble.

The oil sensor you described on the sump is the oil level sensor, not the oil pressure switch. The pressure switch is behind the injector pump, under the air intake, down below the oil filter. It has one wire going into it. When pressure is low, that wire connects to the engine block as a ground return wire, which allows the bulb to illuminate. When there's oil pressure, the switch is open, so that wire is disconnected, and the light is off. That also means if the wire gets broken or disconnected for any other reason, the light is also off, which is why you get the "bulb check" for that when you turn to "on" but before you start your engine. If it isn't working in that position, and the bulb isn't blown, that wire is probably broken/disconnected.
