I need some no-slip for the running boards on the Slee Sliders w/boards.
I could go with a 3M tape with no-slip or some sort of spray on no-slip.
What would be a good spray on product?
The running board part of the slider is removable.
Kurt, just make sure you definitely want to go that route. Bud of mine, with custom not slee sliders, put some adhesive on his and all was great till his son got out and took off the skin 1/2 down his leg.
Yeah, when I get around to making my sliders I have heavily considered this. I believe I say somewhere here that Rhino is a little more rubbery, not as hard as Line-X. If that's true it might help mitigate the skinned shins and legs.
I was going to use skateboard tape but my wife (her DD) was worried about tearing clothes and nylons on the tape. As of yet I haven't put on anything and I'm surprised that the powder coat is not really slippery. We shall see what happens this winter.
I'd hold off until you are sure you want more non-slip.
I plan to Line-X the outer portion only of my Slee Step Sliders ( super awesome sliders by the way, ohh , wife made, repeat made me get them, cool huh? ) before the break of winter. I called a local linex shop and they told me that the price would be about 50 buck for both sides (left and right). I have tried the tape thing on my runner and really it wont work well with snow; once you get any accumulation at all, your foot will probably not push all the way to the thin tape. With the linex lining, a soft smack of shoe on slider will knock off enough snow so that your foot will make contact with contact area of linex. Another option would be a thinly sliced section of diamond plate riveted to the top face of the slider. HTH.
I use a no-skid tape made by Trimbrite. It comes in 1 inch and 2 inch wide rolls. I just bought a new 1 inch roll a week or so ago to re-do the top of my front bumper. I used 2 inch on top of the rock rails of my sliders and on the top of my rear bumper. It was about 5 bucks. I got mine at PepBoys, it was in the same area where they have truck accessories. I think the price on the 2 inch stuff was around 8 bucks. It is not the sandpaper stuff but more of a "bedliner" look, but not as rough as a typical bedliner. I find it lasts about 2 years or so in my climate.
