The center bolt in my skid plate has left the vehicle and it took the spacer that came with my ARB lift with it. It took me months to figure out what the weird buzzing noise was that was coming from the front of the LC. I couldn't feel any vibration in the suspension and it wasn't constant. It was the skid plate. I could take it off but that seems like a terrible idea. I think my best bet is to drill it and helicoil it but I don't know what size it was. Any ideas. It's not M8... those are the the perimeter bolts.

I have the same question : 2003 landcruiser
In my case I got my truck back from the shop and my old slip plate was damaged, (eyelet torn and rusted ) they convinced me just to go without it . Later I picked a used “ engine splash guard “. Aka from skid plate factory / stock , from a later 100 lx .

When I test by hand threading with an
m8 x 125 thread like the side fasteners , the bolt binds after 2 turns …. Definitely feels like wrong thread pitch

Anyone know the correct thread pitch ? And or the Toyota part number ?

Pics show the jack well where this bolt goes

As well as the point on the frame rail the bolt goes into

( As an aside ….. wondering why the anchor point is not centered on the rail from fore to aft ) ( and what in the smaller hole for forward of the anchor point )

Feels like if I turn this M8 x 1.25 thread pitch bolt , that I used to test fit gently by hand , it’s wrong thread and it’s going to strip !!

Front metal skid plate and rear plastic skid plate have the same bolt size all across. Even the one in the middle hole. I have removed rear and front skid plates at least 5 times. Maybe the threads on yours has rust that’s why you feel resistance installing it by finger. Part number for those 12 mm bolts is 9011908862.

Thanks Kamran …..

seems to make sense based on parts diagrams from different suppliers …. However
none I find show the bolt location detail for this bolt point …. Just a total number of 6 apiece 08862 as you said in your reply ….

Wonder why folks call it “ the big one in the center “. …. Doesn’t look like I have a lot of thread there to begin with ….. a nervous to put a wrench on it …. Maybe I should chase it first 😬

Others that also remove replace and agree they are all six interchangeable ?

can I get an amen from anyone else … ok to close my eyes and torque it ?

I just cleaned up the nutserts for all these bolts and just posted in this thread (Skid plate bolts - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/skid-plate-bolts.1174567/#post-12740257)

All 14 bolts are the same, M8 1.25 pitch thread. That being said, mine were all a little crusty/rusty and for some of them I was a little worried about getting the tap lined up up just right.

And for this one in the middle you are talking about, that was the hardest one to get started. So I get it, it is a little nerve wracking as you don't want to cross thread. Best of luck getting it cleaned out.

Grateful for the more knowledgeable than I that confirm they are the same ! ( and glad we don’t have 200 series riddle of different size type every time to remove replace )

Ordered thread chasers before this goes back on !
