I am rebuilding an old Bellview/Warn 5687 winch that I picked up for $50 on Craigslist. This is the older brother of the Warn 8274.
I am looking at using synthetic rope on it, and am curious what size (opening width) aluminum fairlead to use. The spool on the winch is 8-1/2" inside dimension. The bolt holes for the winch mount are in the front, so the fairlead will probably need to use a set of these to mount the aluminum fairlead. The dimensions between the closest set of mounting holes is 11-1/4" C-C.
At this time, I do not have a mount for the winch. I may mount it on a 2" receiver hitch to make it somewhat portable between vehicles.
I am looking to use the 5/16" x 150' AmSteel™-Blue synthetic rope.
Any suggestions on the size or type of Hawse fairlead would be appreciated. Or any other items to watch out for in the installation of the synth rope, etc.
Thanks,
